Summary
On Monday 17 November 2014, in the conference room of the Natural Regional Park Molentargius Saline in Cagliari, associate partner of ECOPLANTMED, a workshop of the project ECOPLANTMED took place. The event was organised by the Centre for the Conservation of Biodiversity (CCB) of the University of Cagliari, project partner in Italy.
The event saw great audience participation; in fact, there were 180 people.
Mrs. Diliberto, Communication Officer from the Joint Managing Authority of the ENPI CBC Med Programme spoke of the results achieved through the programme ENPI 2007-2013 and presented the new programme ENI 2014-2020. On behalf of CCB, Mr. Gianluigi Bacchetta introduced the speakers and acted as moderator of the interventions, while Mrs. Francesca Meloni and Mr. Daniel Ballesteros Bargues presented the ECOPLANTMED project and the results achieved so far. (See presentation: pdf, IT.)
After them, several members of public bodies, such as the Sardinian Region, Province of Cagliari and Municipality of Cagliari, spoke about the actions of biodiversity management and in situ conservation. Later, different professionals involved in the actions of environmental restoration and in the development of public and private gardens, presented their contribution: geologists, agronomists, landscape architects and nurserymen.
At the end of the talks there was an intense debate with the aim of encouraging the exchange of experience and information, also with participation of individual citizens.
CCB announced that in 2015 two events will be held between February and March and they will be dedicated respectively to the nursery sector and to the students, from the last year of high school and from the university of science and agronomy, in order to sensitize the future professionals on the importance of native flora.
